The point of this exercise is what you do after a serve. Get that "footwork" going. Build up the point.
What I visualize here is a good long return cross to my forehand, then I must start the recovery, it gets to my backhand, before I try to "finish" the point by going in to the court. The cones are there to mark where I imagine the ball to be.
