CONTROLLING SPINAL EXTENSION

This is a drill that I've found to be very beneficial in my overhead warm up routines. It serves as both a mobility drill for the shoulder and a stability primer for the core, the perfect pair for overhead work.🙌🏻

↔️The mobility portion comes in the form of using eccentrics to open up range of motion in the shoulder joint. As you control the weight back and build strength through the movement, more motion will become available to you.
.
💪The stability portion of this drill is where the magic is at though. By laying back over the roller, we put our back in a position where it can be very easy for it to extend, which we used to our advantage earlier today for extension mobility. But when it comes to overhead work, we want to resist that extension. So using the roller and weight makes our abs fight extremely hard to not go into that extension position.

What this leads to is a great drill to help you groove your overhead mobility, thoracic extension, and core control all in one. I go low rep on this and focus on quality over all else. It's not a drill meant to make you huff and puff.😥 Just go slow over 5 to 6 reps at a time and set in a better overhead pattern.

4 days out of the hospital and I dropped down a few pounds but I am feeling GREAT today...

Stomach pains have subsided and my body is feeling back to where it was prior to last week's down time...

I've added intermittent fasting in now, fasted cardio in the the mornings and have removed everything from my extreme and moderate food sensitivity tests...

My body has reacted extremely well and my shape is really coming back...
.
And I have to be completely transparent with you guys...

Im not sure I want to put much more weight back on, I just feel so light and flexible and today at the gym, I was rolling around on the floor during my stretching like a 5 year old - and it felt GREAT!!!

There are some obstacle races coming up that I would love to participate in and frankly, it just feels good being so functional and light...
.
I will continue to ease back into my training and eating as we rebuild back and lets' see how 2.0 comes back together... .
