• I haven't done a physique update in awhile so here we are 🙃 not quite sure what I weigh, or why I decided to do a physique update the day after drinking alcohol (makes me hold water)... I'm heavy into my off-season and don't plan on thinking about competing until January 1, 2018. My coach and I are working on increasing my calories slowly to ensure I don't have much fat gain. I was in a caloric deficit for so long that my body stopped responding and stopped losing fat, so we've been trying to reverse that so when I decide to prep again, I don't have to dip so low into the calories. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I'm also still practicing being a monkey! I wanted to incorporate different things into my off-season plan. The first time I tried these, I was only able to make it to bar 6. Today, I doubled that and made it to 12 and ALMOST ALL THE WAY! My legs are swinging less and I'm able to control my movements. It's all about progress, baby! EDIT: both videos are from today... I feel like it's important to mention this was after I trained heavy back and biceps, so my hands were already getting pretty shot. I do feel like these are helping with my grip strength though. • #nickiturnsmonkey #functionaltraining #functionalathlete

Chest day today. Promised myself to stay away from heavy weights for a few weeks, been really focusing on mobility, functionality, athleticism, and still basically hitting body part splits with almost all bodyweight work. It's fun. Always new goals. My mobility has increased a lot and my core is getting stronger. And my shoulder feels a lot better without heavy barbell pressing. #AllThePushups #FunctionalAthlete

Connor is in junior high school and is a fantastic golfer. Today we worked a ton on core stabilization and strength, throughout different planes of movement. Trunk rotation and strength is essential to a great golf swing and we definitely hit that today.

Another week. Another opportunity to improve. Today’s Man Card Monday:
Run 400 meters
Pushups x 20
Then using a single barbell, perform the following (approx 95lbs):
Barbell Rows x 20
Deadlifts x 20
Power Cleans x 20
Front Squat x 20
Push Press x 20
Back Squat x 20
Row 800 meters
Rest 5 minutes and repeat
5 x burpee penalty at the end of the circuit for each time you set the bar down. 🏋️‍♀️🇺🇸
