4th May ‘18. Usually I’d spend this day somewhere away from the city...some beautiful place lost in music. This year I thought I’d do something different. Get inked. Get a sleeve!
Eric to the rescue :)
I scouted around for a while, looking for magicians with hands of crazy skills who could be trusted. After all, I’d have to live with my new sleeve for life! In my search, Eric didn’t just seem gifted; he sounded very humble and very passionate.
So decision made. Felt I’d leave this in his able hands.
I approached him for half a sleeve, my forearm. My ask, faces. Beautiful faces. Somehow merging into a beautiful sleeve.
And Eric suggested a coloured one. My worry was the risk of fading colours. And ofcourse the overall design since we weren’t bumming something off the internet. He asked me to just trust in him. And I did!
2 days before THE DAY, he messaged and asked if I’d give him my entire arm. He wanted to do me a complete sleeve, from wrist to shoulder. He’d make me something, spinning what I’d wanted...but I’d have to trust him while he’d design it as per his vision. I knew he was passionate and felt he wouldn’t let me down. Sometimes, you do come across people you kinda feel have got your back. And I said hell yeah!!!
Over to 4th May. We began at 3pm. He got his needles out and worked through like a machine. Damn, it was so tiring, I actually fell asleep while simply lying down. But not this guy. (nope, I didn’t faint...that’s me asleep in this video 😂)
We wound up post midnight, at around 12.30am. A good half of the first patch design was done.
I then got to know he was a bit under the weather when he had woken up, yet didn’t cancel my appointment since I wanted to begin my sleeve journey on this day. Passion! Commitment! That’s Eric!!!
Well, here’s the first glimpse of my sleeve journey. It’s just a small patch, still healing. There’s a lot more skin to go. He hasn’t made the entire sleeve design yet but I trust his work. Damn eager and excited to see how this goes. Hopefully we’ll have this done in 3 months.
@ericjasondsouza - Thanks for putting your heart into what you’re doing. I believe you’ll kill this one! Work your magic bro!!!
