Here's a shot in the gym with @coachscottabel and @megamartycoach after one of my all out epic cheat days, and what'd ya know, Abs are still there, maybe not as sharp because of my food choices but who cares?
That's another point I always try to drive home with people, if you're not already enough of a person without 6 pack abs or your dream body or whatever than you'll never be enough with them either, you'll be chasing rainbows in discontent the rest of your life. You gotta get real first about detaching your body image from self image, because in reality your body image isn't going to last forever and if that's what you're all about than you'll be in for a rude awakening as you get older. I've been around the fitness industry long enough to know that the people that are never satisfied with their bodies are also the same people that are never happy either, does that sound like a healthy way to live your life?
Any weight you gain in a short period of time like that is labile, meaning it's unsustainable, it's just water. When your body is used to eating certain foods a certain way and then you spike your calories immensely with pizza, ice cream, donuts and all kinds of stuff in huge amounts, that's your body's natural response. Plus eating off diet in our world of food abundance is really fun and is a part of sustainable dieting and lifestyle, remember you're supposed to enjoy food, not fear it! and it keeps my metabolism optimized so I can actually stay healthy and lean.
