I wanted to top it off with a third, but the stars started swarming me when setting up for that last rep; suffice it to say I cut my losses and took what I could get.

That said, my form and depth felt solid, despite what my brain was trying to tell me.
My confidence on squat has shot through the roof after my rehabilitation, and it feels ehhh..........kinda​ good.

Openers and seconds done and dusted today and went well .Back in this sexy beast of a soft suit 😂and I think my chest infection may be starting to clear as I didn't dry rech after my lifts today, just a few coughing fits so great news . Big cheat meal of Burgerfuel and do a few jobs then I've got the week off callouts to relax at night and eat healthy. Already under comp weight thanks to being ill so just cruise and enjoy the next week recovering. Some good news, though--everything was firing off solidly, so I think I can safely start deadlifting every week once we're in-season.

Last time I did weight this close to my 1rm, I was six or seven pounds heavier, injury-free, and about two weeks AWAY from competition..........considering meet prep this year doesn't start until August, you bet your ass I'm comin' for redemption.

Hook grip 5x5 block at about 287 (including the heavy-ass clips) on deads.

Form felt fairly decent, and my hips aren't shooting up nearly as early as they used to before the weight moves.
Neither fatigue nor pain set in, so that's a win in my book; things are lookin' up.

Here's some neutral grip barbell skull crushers from last night's bench session.

I honestly didn't think much of this specific accessory movement at the time, but I know for damn sure that I'm bringin' this into my pressing regimen from now on.
Admittedly, it's sloppy as hell, but still effective nonetheless at killing my triceps.

Bench session today, with this set of 190x4 going quite smoothly, despite a couple misgrooves.
I attempted a top set of 200x4, but lost my groove on the 3rd rep, which killed my form and my strength; annoying, but nonetheless a learning experience.

Pretty stoked on maintaining my strength at a lower bodyweight, which means once meet prep starts...........well, shit's gonna get real, and you'll be along for the ride.
