As I’m sure you all have already noticed (and have been noticing for awhile), I don’t really post food pictures anymore. That’s because
1. After Instagram changed all of its “rules”, posts that would’ve gotten be 1,000+ likes and 100 new followers are now only getting 200-300 likes and maybe 1-5 new followers.
2. Because of these changes, putting the effort into a photo like this one above no longer seemed worth it if it wasn’t going to help me build a career because no one was engaging in my hard work.
And 3. I just don’t eat food like this anymore. Sure, I have smoothies and nice cream still. But I don’t cram every healthy thing I can find into one large bowl giving myself a stomachache. I don’t eat copious amounts all at once just because other people say to (and because it makes a pretty picture). My life has changed, and so did my page. Yes - that means I haven’t grown in followers in over a year, and yes that means I get very low engagement on all of my posts, but I don’t care. This is not what my life is all about anymore. I love Instagram and I love YouTube, but I’m not going to waste my days taking food photos for hours, editing for more hours, and forcing myself to consume things that just don’t make me feel my best.
For those of you that have stuck by me in all of my changes and accept that there is more to me than food, thank you. For the others - 👋🏼🙃
