Do you ever get caught up in the desire for a perfect #zerowaste life, drooling over #pantrygoals or #fridgegoals or #groceryhauls or other aesthetic goals? Can you think of a product that you'd like to upgrade to, but you have an alternative at home that works just fine, even if it's old or plastic or ugly? Tell me what item you wish you could replace! For me, it's my towels and my toilet brush and my ice cube trays...to name a few!
I bought this water bottle when I first started my zero waste journey. I loved the aesthetic, the materials used, the company's business practices...
Want to know a secret? I didn't NEED this water bottle. In all honesty, I spent too much money on it at the time. Budget wise, I should have looked for a #secondhand option. But at the time, I was thinking more about the externals of my new ZW lifestyle.
There's NOTHING wrong with wanting to fill our lives and homes with beauty! (In another life, I want to be a #minimalist interior designer.) If I could go back in time, I'd search for this bottle second hand–a compromise between budget and aesthetic and closed-loop shopping. We learn as we go. We make mistakes. We help others grow. The desire to fill the world with beauty, to protect the environment from harm, and the need to make sacrifices when we shop all go hand in hand when it comes to #lowwaste living. That's what makes living this way so worth it: it's challenging and rewarding all at once.🌍❤️
