I'm no stranger to drinking shakes. I've used protein shakes in the past as meal replacements to lose weight by cutting down on my daily calorie intake. It took me 3 months to lose 20ish pounds in college at age 19. I liked the weight loss, but I didn't like how I felt and the process was absolutely miserable. None of that work was worth it. I put all that weight plus some back on when school started and I didn't care. I was depriving myself of not only things I liked, but things my body needed. There was no need for the amount of protein in the shake I drank because I ate enough protein in my diet. It was an easy way to cut calories but it didn't provide any value to my body nutritionally that I couldn't get by eating food.
So what's up with this shake? What makes it different? .
This isn't a protein shake...it's a superfood shake! It does contain protein (mine is completely plant based protein since whey makes me 💩), but it also contains 70 whole foods that pack a punch as well as the only probiotic proven to keep its encapsulated integrity through your gut! .
My superfoods help support my overall health in several ways. Adaptogenic herbs like ashwagandha and reishi help support the adrenals and your body's response to stress (my hypo friends, you are more prone to adrenal fatigue!). Supergreens and phytonutrients fill in my nutritional gaps since I'm a big 👎🏼 on veggies. So spinach, kale, matcha, moringa, and chlorella picks up some of that slack for me. All the superfruits and antioxidants to fight free radicals in the body. Plus our friends chia, flax, and quinoa help make up the plant based protein blend.
These superfoods have helped to...
-alleviate arthritis in my knees
-regrow my hair after my post-partum hair loss
-practically eliminated my IBS
-have more energy -I haven't been sick in over a year
-lower my blood sugar .
My journey isn't just about losing weight. It's about this one body I have been given. It can do amazing things but the quality of those things are limited by the quality of fuel I put in it. Your body is a temple, treat it as such.
As for mine, I will treat it to daily offerings of Reese's flavored superfoods! 😜
