We see oats everywhere, and the photos of their versatility are common place, but what do we know about them? Are they the best option for us in our breakfast cereal, porridge or smoothies?
Oats are grains after all, and that means they have been modified over time. They are still a relatively new food and not the same grain our ancestors ate. They are typically rolled in high heat which essentially cooks them, ridding them of many of the nutrients they once had.
