The French Resistance played a key role in the invasion of Normandy. The United States, Great Britain, and Canada relied on the Axis occupied French citizens to provide intelligence in order to achieve success in the biggest invasion in history, D-Day. The French sabotaged the Germans as well as tested the sand on the 5 beaches to determine the wake of the water.
