Children at the Beach by Frank Harmon Myers. "Frank Harmon Myers (1899-1956) began his formal art training at the Cincinnati Art Academy in 1917. Among his teachers were Frank Duveneck and John Ellsworth Weis.
The artist’s earliest work reflects both the interests and style of his teachers, but later Myers turned to a more colorful impressionist style of painting.
Although Frank Myers had traveled to both Europe and the American West, his home was in Ohio. He taught at the Art Academy in Cincinnati. But after suffering from both poor health and depression, Myers moved to the Monterey, California area in 1940.
Over time Myers became an important figure in the Carmel-Monterey art community. He specialized in painting the coastal areas and seascapes of the Monterey Peninsula.
Paintings by Frank Myers can be found in the public collections of the National Museum of American Art in Washington, D. C., the San Diego Museum of Art, the Oakland Museum of Art, the Museum of New Mexico, the University of Cincinnati, and at the Irvine Museum." (Michael Greany Fine Art)
