Was Hiroshima/Nagasaki justified? (Aka fuck you)
The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki became infamous as the crippling end of the Japanese empire during the early 20th century. Often times when talking about these bombings, the issue of whether or not the US had other options is brought up. The simple answer to this is yes. However, if you begin to think about it, the answer to this question becomes more complex than a simple "yes". To realize the complexity, you must remember the environment and the people in the environment. During this time many people in the American population were very discriminatory against Asians, and were extremely patriotic, this is because of the plentiful of anti-japanese propaganda that the government was promoting. In addition, the government preparing to bomb (under president Truman) promised the American people, a non-negotiable treaty that benefits America. So upon hearing that Japan was attempting to make ammends to end the war, America couldn't allow that because it would go against what Truman promised. However, even though the US refused to make ammends with the Japanese, there were STILL options besides dropping lil' boy and fat man. During this time the Japan was being firebombed by the US, as retaliation against the attack of Pearl Harbor. In addition, the US created a blockade for all goods going to Japan, which also affected harshly Japan.
Yet still, the US decided to use the atomic bomb, but why? It's more than likely that the American government wasn't ready for disapproval from the American people, due to them "not keeping their promise to the American people". So the question comes up, was the US justified in using the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The answer is clearly no, because of the amount of additional options they had besides the atomic bombs. ✿ B a c k u p ✿ : @windowsxpinstall.exe
