CHOOSE LOVE 💕
March 15th marked 7 years of the man made tragedy that is the Syria conflict. A war that that has been waged almost exclusively against civilians, who have been bombed, gassed, besieged, starved, tortured, and displaced in full gaze of the world. After 7 years of war and atrocities we are beyond excuses... hundreds of thousands of innocent lives have been sacrificed to this completely senseless conflict. The international community is not acting as it should.. the countries with influence in the conflict are putting their perceived interests ahead of international law and the human rights of the Syrian people , in a way that is nothing short of inhumane. We will be haunted in decades to come by our failure in Syria.
It was a priveledge to see so many at this weekends protest through the streets of parliamentary London to stand up against the monstrous human rights violations that are being committed 💔
I stand #withrefugees
They deserve to live in safety. Our world leaders need to find bold, humane and innovative solutions in order to meet massive humanitarian needs both inside Syria and its neighbouring countries. To address the roots of the conflict, demand a ceasefire and a diplomatic path out of this crisis. With an increase in support and solidarity we have the chance to change the lives, the futures of the 5.6 million refugees that have so far sought safety beyond Syria’s borders. We are all in this together.
