Now that the original food trucks distributing the iconic South Australian delicacy, Pie Floaters, are no longer situated on either The Parade or Victoria Square (courtesy off my preferred supplier Cowleys), I've been forced to produce my own facsimile, tapping strained memory banks from the last millennium.
Deploying a magnificent ham hock from @goodwoodqualitymeats as the core ingredient, the soup also contains dried yellow and green peas, with onion, garlic, celery, carrots, potato and bay leaves, then finished with a lustrous green highlight of frozen peas. The pie is ethically sourced directly from the supermarket deep freeze, and the tomato sauce is courtesy of Rosella. Bon appetite.
