~Have you ever heard of a #IExistforMe 5-Day Challenge? Nope? Well, neither had I!
And even though I'm starting it 2 days late, as I've been working hard all week to look after other peoples' needs, I realized that this was all the more reason why I HAD to start this challenge, as I pack my bags to set off on my 4-Day holiday. Because now it's time for me to focus on me. So here goes!
In response to Day 1's challenge, I'm focusing on validating my feelings, needs and desires.
Because a lot of us (particularly girls and women), we feel everything we do needs to be about pleasing someone else. Making someone else happy. Asking about how someone is feeling, and trying to help people feel more joy in their lives. Checking to see if someone else needs something from us to feel more comfortable and taken care of.
I know I feel that way, a lot.
And in response to today's challenge, I'm focusing on what it is that gives ME joy, for me...a.k.a. taking footselfies!!! ________________________________________👐
Why? I don't know...maybe because I have a thing for interesting patterns.
Maybe because I have a thing for different textures.
Or maybe because it captures a story, a season, a scent.
I don't know why.
All I know is I have a thing for #footselfies, and it helps ground me back into a state of being, back to the truth that #IExistForMe.
#IExistForMeChallenge, Day 1:
"My feelings, needs, and desires are valid.
I do not have to earn my worth, or control how other people perceive me.
I will no longer center the feelings, needs, desires, experiences, or expectations of others:
I am the center of my own story.
I am not here to be looked at, or to make other people comfortable.
I exist for me."
