We spoke to #comedian and writer and person-from-#Leeds Liam Williams about #travel, about sketch-writing, about #stand-up, about his theatre production ‘Travesty’, and about the rugby player Liam Williams. -
The @bbc have just announced they are releasing the second series of the BAFTA-nominated ‘Pls Like’, written by Williams, in which he plays a reluctant YouTube vlogger prodded into finding renown. We talked about Williams’s skill at writing the split-character, cognitive dissonance, and metropolitan guilt — and in general, the comic’s compulsion to do so. Williams answers with his customary wit, and his enjoyably baroque vocabulary. -
Said Williams: 'I like doing stand-up. I’m not doing it at the moment, but I might do more in the future. But I was aware, even at the outset, that I felt like more of a writer. Or someone who liked to try things out in different forms and media, rather than a bloody-minded pure stand-up act — which some people are. And that’s great. But I’m not like that’. -
Williams’s comedy troupe Sheeps are performing in London this month at the @LordStanleyPub, the @theatredeli, and @thepleasance. They’re fugging fantastic, and definitely worth catching if you get the chance.
