Our go to Italian restaurant in Holland Village. Really enjoyed the pesto penne with sundried tomatoes and cow mozzarella although it looks the most underwhelming. Would have preferred the tomato sauce in the crab meat linguine to be more ‘tomatoey’ albeit there was quite a generous portion of crab meat. Like to applaud their attentive waiters and quick turn around time for lunch especially when it was so packed 👍🏼

ebi ramen

Levelled-up mee rebus? That was what I was thinking on my first sip of the shrimp-based broth. If someone had somehow made a $17 mee rebus, I would imagine its gravy to taste something like Ebi-Tori Menzo's ebi ramen broth. Imagine the shrimpy taste of mee rebus gravy multiplied by six times (because this ramen costs about 6 times more than a regular mee rebus), and with a bisque-like (rather than gooey) consistency. Ebi-Tori Menzo is a relatively new entrant to the vibrant ramen scene in Japan, having only started operations in Osaka two years ago. As their name suggests, Ebi-Tori Menzo's signature ramen are shrimp- and chicken-based. The chef is definitely trying for a Western-Japanese fusion concept here, with the use of unconventional ramen toppings, such as bread, rocket leaves and tomato cubes. I did not find the broth too "jelak", as some food bloggers have mentioned. And oh, you can skip the tamago. Use the money saved to buy mee rebus that comes with a hard-boiled egg from the hawker centre instead.

Pollen’s risotto was too bland for our liking and it turned cold pretty quickly due to the lower temperature in the flower dome. However, the saving grace came from the beef cheek which saved the entire dish as it was tender with the right amount of fattiness.

Awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand consecutively from 2015 to 2018. Number 1 ramen in Tokyo for 2016 and 2017. Number 1 ramen in the whole of Japan in 2016. I went into this ramen shop with sky-high expectations. It was not that the ramen was not good. Maybe I should not have read so many food blogger reviews. I was expecting an intense and multi-layered broth, but I found that it was comparable to Menya Masamune's broth at best. The truffle taste was a bit overwhelming, and reminded me of Tsuta's truffle-infused ramen. (Do Michelin inspectors have a preference for truffle-infused dishes?) The so-called triple soup broth is made from a blend of clams, pork bone and dashi. I felt that it lacked just a little bit of punch. The ramen comes with two types of thinly sliced charshu: sous vide and thick belly. They were tender and well-seasoned. I expect the shoyu version to be more flavourful, and will return for that.

We have busy lives and don’t really have time to prepare our own meals most of the time at home. Thankful that adulthood is made easier as Cold Storage released a new line of ready-to-eat pastas partnered with @SaybonsSG! Life saver especially during public holidays where everything is closed, 90 seconds in the microwave and we’re good to go ☺️

There is a new brunch place in town with its menu of savoury brunch dishes and shakes. If you are a brunch person you check out Patissez (@patissezindore )on AB Road, it has a pleasant interior and with ample of natural light for reading in the day.
It open at 11 a.m. and stays open till 11 p.m. all days of the week. They have a nice brunch menu, shakes are their specialities, you can have the genuine taste of classic margherita pizza here, and finally you can end your meal with delicious dessert.
Recommendations - This is Australian brand famous for their shakes, but their Pizza is also true to its taste.

wanton mee ($3)

I tried to recall what was good and bad about this wanton mee but I could not. Nothing stood out. All I could remember was scooping the pork lard bits onto my plate. They did not add much to the taste though. In summary, a mediocre plate of wanton mee that did not leave much impression. I wonder why this stall has so many accolades when there are many other undecorated stalls that serve better wanton mee. Maybe it's the old-school taste that entices their regular customers to return again and again.

Really tender chicken with a spice rub that reminded us of satay. The rub could swing both ways, either you’ll love it or hate it. Also, the chicken could have been a little more evenly seasoned as some areas were more flavorful than the others. Hidden underneath the whole chicken came with chick pea and eggplant stew, probably to balance the strong flavors from the chicken. Apart from the food, we also get free entry to the Flower Dome so that’s a plus ☺️

Situated in Indrapuri Pleasure House is one of the most pocket friendly & tasty cafe in the city. It has a great environment friendly interior decorated with various plants and a little fish pond with fountain. This place has a verandah style sitting, ambiance is soothing and the sitting is comfortable.
You can drop in at any time between 10.30 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. except for Sunday to enjoy the delicious food here. They have a nice variety of Burger, Pizza, Pasta, Sandwich, etc they even have salads in their menu for people who prefer healthy food.
Recommendations - They have one of the best White Sauce Pasta in the city, they are also famous for burgers.
