Some say, "If you eat dessert before meal, it will ruin your appetite", but wont eating meal before dessert ruin your appetite for dessert too? 😂🤓
Truly a #PearAlmondCrumble that I hold close to my heart ❤️
For the Crumble
🔹1 cup Flour
🔹1/2 cup multigrain cereal (I used nestum)
🔹2/3 cup Ground Almonds
🔹1/2 cup flaked Almonds
🔹100 g chilled butter, cut into small pcs
🔹1 tsp baking powder
🔹1/3 cup brown sugar or adjust to your desired sweetness
For the Filling
🔹about 4 pears, peeled and sliced
🔹1 tbsp sugar
🔹1 tsp ground cinnamon powder
🔹1 tsp butter
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C
2. Place the pears in a bowl, sprinkle the cinnamon powder and gently stir, then add sugar and stir well.
3. Melt the butter in a small pan, add the cinnamon-coated pear slices and constantly stir the pears to evenly coat with butter. Turn the pears over so that you coat and cook both sides of the pears.
4. In a different bowl, add butter and flour to a bowl and rub together until the mix resembles breadcrumbs.
5. Add sugar, egg, ground almonds and baking powder and mix well.
6. Press the bottom of a well-buttered 9 inch baking dish with 2/3 of the mixture, then top with the softened sliced pears.
7. Add the flaked almonds and nestum to the remaining 1/3 crumbles mixture, mix well, and top the pears with the mixture, breaking into small chunks and cook for 25~30 minutes, or until the crumble turns golden, and serve with vanilla ice cream.
Note: use any fruit you like, fresh or tinned! whatever you fancy! (I prefer fresh ☺️ apples, blueberries too)
