~ Adya Shakti ~ the primordial energy upon which the entirety of the cosmos exists; transforming energy to matter, formless to form, unmanifest to manifest. A world revolving upon the colorful composition of masculine and feminine, Shiva and Shakti, prana and apana, solar and lunar. The masculine being shape and form, rigid in structure. The feminine being fluid and formless, soft in curvature. These opposing yet complimentary forces combine and intertwine to bring you, me, and all life into being. This fluid, ever-changing current of energy animates our physical shell and underlies the very structure it creates; from organism to celestial body to the universe as a whole.
In celebrating Navratri (nights of Mother Divine) I've been attending to the subtleties of feminine nature, the Mother-ly qualities that permeates all of life. Each of us were brought into the world by way of a mother, and these energetic qualities remain in flow through us all- no matter the body we were born into. Tears have been brought to my eyes in the simple act of taking a step back to notice, honor, and recognize the sheer beauty of Shakti all around me and in me. I’ve been induced with awe as she hurries her way through crowds, stands on a street corner, sits across from me at the dinner table. Shivers have covered my body in bringing awareness to the immense strength, fearlessness, ferocity and power that stems from the nurturing, caring, protecting and loving aspects of the Divine Mother.
To Shakti, moving through every particle of existence...to ALL activated abodes for this current... to the women and mothers in my life and of this planet... I see the divine in you, I honor you, I recognize you, I love you.
