What do you see when you look at the ocean? I see layers of space moving all at once, memory of a wave hitting another, nostalgia running into my stomach, feeling my energy cleansing by this giant source of it. There are thousands of days along different seasides, faces of people I once knew and most I still do, feeling myself as a child running towards the water, weightless. This particular piece of ocean brings me layer after layer of memory; it has taught me, healed me, shaped me, given to me. It never stays tied to one memory, or holds on to any at all, like we do; it is curative, gently bringing my awareness right here, into the white wash.
