Eccentric neural grooving for improved ankle dorsi flexion

These are appropriate in a healthy ankle (maybe an unhealthy one but that requires more assessment) that has good passive range dorsi-flexion to help improve control at the joint by loading the joint into lengthened ranges.

They can also be used pre training by restoring some range by desensitizing the nervous system in the joint while also loading and strengthening - althought this may not be ideal if it opens completely new ranges that will be loaded heavy afterwards

In The Acro Movement, we believe everyone can fly!

After the 2nd class of the beginners’ class yesterday, I’m very proud to see how these guys morphed beautifully into birds that can fly!

We’re able to develop the classes into stimulating playfulness & bonding & clear communication with the joy of physical movement for these beautiful people who are eager to learn and experience acroyoga.

I can also see that we’ve enhanced physical awareness & self-confidence throughout the classes and expect more in the coming and remaining sessions.

Added to this spectacular learning curve is the very conducive and beautiful yoga studio, the Collective Learning Centre in Newtown. Truly a magnificent place to learn acroyoga!

It's the 2nd and last Acro Yoga class this month at Lentils at Anything!

The power of teaching is the ability to share the inner & outer body knowledge with your students. In this class, we’ll give you the instructive foundations required to convey your inner & outer knowledge soundly, safely, and compassionately; drawing from experience.

The class is donation-based, so all the money is coming back to the community! All levels are welcome and not required to bring a partner.

Absolute beginners are welcome and no partner is needed. This coming Sunday, come and be ready to play!

The name “Chakrasana” comes from the Sanskrit words “Chakra” which means wheel, and meaning of Asana is “Posture” or “seat”. Chakrasana or the wheel pose is a backward bending yoga asana. Chakra in Sanskrit means Wheel. In chakrasana, the final position looks like a wheel, hence the name. It gives great flexibility to the spine. It is called chakrasana since the body takes almost a wheel-like, semi circular posture while performing this asana

In our acroyoga,we incorporate and unite movement and breathing as a form of meditation. By learning how to move together and connecting our breath as one, acroyoga permits you to build trust.

It also includes physical bearings, conscious breathing, connection, trust, communication, compassion and play. For us, the beauty is that this practice expands beyond the yoga mat and has the potential to infuse every aspect of your life.

Additionally, two people coming together for yoga is that together, they will gain more knowledge about their bodies, their breath and instead of using props to intensify their poses, they use one another. Making a stronger connection to the breath, develops a venue for a stronger connection to the mind and our point of consciousness.

Sirsasana meaning headstand is considered to be one of the most important yoga poses. Sirsasana is known as "the queen of poses", and the reason relates to the effect it has on the brain and mind. The inversion of this pose causes increased and unrestricted blood flow to the brain.
