Sharing a pretty easy, deliciously spiced and pan cooked chicken tandoori recipe.
10-12 pieces of chicken legs
1 cup hung curd(thick)
Butter, Lemon juice
1½ tbsp of Ginger-garlic paste
2 tsp red chilli powder
1tsp turmeric powder
1tsp coriander powder
1tsp garam masala
1 tbsp everest chicken masala
Pinch of red food color
Salt to taste
Dry kasuri methi (crushed)
1piece of charcoal
Onion salad, lemon halves
1.Firstly, make some cuts into the chicken pieces.
2. For marination: take a bowl, add chicken, yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt to taste, chicken masala, lemon juice, crushed kasuri methi, red food color. Rub the marinade all over the chicken so that spices are mixed well. Refrigerate this marinade for atleast 1hour.
3.In a non stick pan, apply some butter and oil, place the chicken pieces in the pan.
4.Cook each sides properly untill you get the nice golden brown colour & roasted type on high flame.
5.Once all the pieces are fried, then cover it on low flame for about 10-12 mins to make it soft.
6.Heat the charcoal untill it's red in colour. In the bowl/pan where the tandoori chicken is placed, keep a small steel glass/bowl, and place the coal in it, add some oil over coal and cover the pan. This is done to give a nice smoky flavor.
7.At last, add some lemon juice & sprinkle chicken masala. Garnish with onion salad & lemon. Chicken tandoori is ready to be served.
Note: to make ginger-garlic paste, mince 1piece chopped ginger, 10-12 garlic cloves chopped, 2 green chillies, sprinkle chicken masala, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt, turmuric powder, 1 tsp oil in a mortar. Add this paste in the marinade.
