From a distance: smiley, happy, strong
Close up: in pain, sore, insecure
Both these photos were taken this morning: about 30 seconds apart. We all fight our own battles. My gluten intolerance doesn't only cause my gut an extreme amount of pain and discomfort, but it also gives me psoriasis all over my body, but particularly on my scalp. This can make it look like I have dandruff, which makes me feel really quite insecure. I've never shown my psoriasis on my Instagram before (or really spoken about it with my friends), due to that fact: but I am thanking my gal @busybeefitness for giving me the courage to post this. 💖
On the left, my stomach may not look bloated, but it feels AWFUL. I woke up several times in the night with stabbing pains... and I won't give you any more info... 🙃💩 I don't take any medication for it because I know my triggers: gluten, onions and garlic. I thought I could eat regular oats as they only contain a trace of gluten, but nope. 150g of them alone has caused this 😶. I've had colonoscopies and various other tests but all they can diagnose is IBD... (it's not IBS, that's different to IBD).
It lasts for days and days and can make me bed bound for a long time... BUT I am not going to let this knock my confidence... and that's why I'm posting this! BECAUSE YOU SHOULD NOT LET YOUR APPEARANCE KNOCK YOUR SELF-WORTH! Yes, it hurts. And that's not good. But I am going to rest up, fuel my body, and help raise awareness for this kinda issue! I'm sorry if this is disgusting to you BUT I am in the hope that it will help some people.❤
So guys, please know that you're not alone in whatever it is that you're fighting. It may sound cliché but it's true. And I know my #StrengthFeed community have my back. 💖💖💖 @strength_feed
