4 weeks out from BC Provincials. Only 3 weeks of lifting left. Here is some footage of the last few training sessions. I am not going to be at pre-injury levels in time for the meet, but I think I can put up a big enough total to qualify for Westerns. I could be at full strength then and smash it. This is 475lbs deads and 405lbs squat triples. It was the 3rd set of deads and the 4th set of squats filmed. The anticipation is building. ☺💪

Last week I was out of sorts when it came to my meals. Things got busy and I didn’t take the time to sit down and plan them out and as a result I found myself scrambling. .
So this week I have written down my meals in my tracker so I have myself set up each day for success- no excuses. .

“Mom, if something happens to you what would happen to me?”
That’s how many conversations have started over the last few years with my little man. .
He’s a worrier…..he gets that from me. He is constantly thinking about where he would end up if god forbid, anything happened to his mama.
I can’t tell you how it makes me feel knowing that he worries about things like this. Being a single mom, I worry about this all the time. If something happened to me…..what would happen to him?
I’m fortunate enough to have my parents and siblings around and I know that if anything did happen to me, they would step up to the plate, and for that I am grateful, but the thought of not being around to watch my little boy grow up is unbearable.
When people ask me why I work out so much and why I focus on feeding my body healthy, nutritious food instead of the processed crap I used to consume, my answer is always the same and always simple. I do it for him…….and for me.
I do it because I want him to have his mama around for a long time. I do it because I want to be able to keep up with him. And I do it because I want to be a good example for him.
Look…..I get that there are no guarantees. Life can be short and we never know what’s waiting for us around the corner. But I’m damn sure not going to speed up the process by not taking the best care of myself as possible.
I get that it’s not easy.
I get that it takes time and commitment and the DESIRE to make a change for the better. But just think about how amazing it will be to know that you are doing something great not only for yourself, but for your kids and family.
Ladies, it’s time to start putting yourself first. Someone has to……if you don’t nobody is going to do it for you.

How much WATER do you REALLY need in a day?
Well, there are MANY different opinions on how much water we should be drinking every day
I mean, we have all had it drilled into us that we need to drink at least eight glasses of water a day, which is a half a gallon
And then there is the other extreme, where we are told that we need to sip water consistently throughout the day....and that includes even when we’re not even thirsty
So how much WATER is best? As with most things, I believe this depends on the individual and there are many factors that ultimately affect our need for water
At the end of the day, no one can tell you exactly how much water you need.
In my opinion, I believe that you should AIM, (and I said aim,) to drink AT LEAST half your body weight. .
However, I suggest that you do some self experimentation, as some people function better with more water than usual, while for others it only causes the inconvenience of more frequent trips to the bathroom
So before I go I want to leave you with a few tips to GET YOUR WATER IN:
💦 Drink when you’re thirsty
💦 Sip small amounts throughout the day 💦 Carry a water bottle with you so you can drink when you're thirsty
