Can you believe this before and after?? The difference is more than 25 lbs. I took the second photo a year ago but never really showed it much. But now I'm saying HELL YESS!! Why Not?? The best thing about my transformation is the way I feel. More confident, energized, more focused. I sleep better, think better and I'm happier!!! Thing is I didn't diet. I made some lifestyle changes and changed how I eat. And the pounds melted away without me noticing until my pants wouldn't stay up!! 🤣

🤹🏻‍♀️Every single day someone is telling me that they are eating 1200 calories as they are trying to lose fat. The number 1200 comes up a lot.
🐬What’s interesting, is that more often than not, 1200 is just a random number people think “sounds about right”
🎨It’s almost as if 1200 seems to be the “standard” go-to calorie number for fat loss. But here’s the thing…..1200 calories for *most* people (not all) is way low and not sustainable over the long term.
🏆For some of you, that number may be a great place for you to be based on your weight, height, etc. But for the vast majority of us, it’s too low and not sustainable.
🏀So what is sustainable? That will vary for each person, but a great place to start is taking your bodyweight and multiplying it by 11-12. Start there. If you have significant weight to lose, you could go a little lower or even use your goal weight in the calculation. Track for 3-4 weeks and adjust if needed, but somewhere in that range is probably going to be a modest calorie deficit for most people
🐕Being less restrictive is going to allow you to eat in a more enjoyable and sustainable way. When you start restricting your calories too much, you are more apt to binge, more apt to be low on energy, and you will get extremely frustrated.
🦔This is a life long process, not a quick fix. You hear that all the time, but I can guarantee you this:
🤗Once you shift your mindset to a life long journey, and not a quick fix/temporary mentality, you will not only start to see results, but you are going to start to love the process. Because after all, if you don’t enjoy the process, what’s the point?

🦄If I am being honest here, the word “toned” is not a term I have used too much until many of my online coaching clients were using it. So let’s start off by agreeing what “toned” really means. “Toned” means visible lean muscle definition.
🦆I get messages every single day from people who want to know how to get more lean, and more defined. We could really over complicate this, but let’s keep it simple, shall we?
- 🦓You need to build muscle to look “toned”. So let’s get out there and lift some heavy weight in different rep ranges. Focus on getting strong. Really strong. Heavy is a relative term - what is heavy to you may not be heavy to another. Find YOUR heavy and go! -
🐅You will want to keep your calories in check and make sure you get enough protein. And please please don’t avoid carbs. You want to build some muscle? You gotta have carbs. Plus, carbs = life -
🐵Consistency is probably the most important part of the equation, and it’s the thing I see that is missing most often.
For some reason the expectation of perfection still looms out there. Screw perfection - consistency is what will win out - every single time.
➡️What not to do to get toned? -
❌Endless hours of cardio. Hey, if you love cardio, then by all means, do some. Just don’t have cardio become your main focus. Cardio by itself or in lieu of strength training won’t get you the toned muscles you are looking for
❌Stop doing a ga-zillion crunches every night thinking you will “get abs”. Hit your nutrition and your strength training hard - That’s how you get abs
❌Stop severely restricting foods or food groups Eat a healthy diet that includes protein, carbs and fats. All of 'em. Overall calories and protein rule the roost, but don’t leave the others out. Life is too short to be so restrictive

☕️You want to know how many times I sat there and looked at my ever-growing belly thinking, “I guess this is it. This is how it’s going to be” -
Oh about 1,000. Maybe more. I used to think gaining belly fat was a part of middle age - a rite of passage I couldn’t control -
🍤 I assumed losing fat at my age was impossible-thought it couldn’t be done. But as I eventually found out, I was wrong.
🥗We hear a lot about our slowing metabolism as we age and are quick to blame it for our weight gain. Our metabolism does slow down as we age, but not to the extent that we think. I blamed all of my weight gain on my metabolism to the point of getting it checked by my doctor, who told me my metabolism was fine.
🍎Now let me be really clear here. I am NOT talking about people with a diagnosed medical condition that may need to be treated with medication, or special diets,etc . I am talking about the rest of us. The majority of us, who gained weight during middle age -
🥨Our bodies do change as we age. That is a given. But those changes do not mean we can’t lose fat. Not at all. We just have to dial in our nutrition, and be relentless in our pursuit. Is it easy? No. Some might even say it’s harder for us. I wouldn’t disagree with that.
🍐But the principles of fat loss are the same whether we are 25 years old or 55 years old. You need to be in a calorie deficit to lose fat -
🍓Strength training becomes a game changer for us too. We lose muscle mass as we age( 5-7 pds per decade), and bone density too, so strength training is as important for us as it ever has been. Bodyweight won’t do it for long. You need to add resistance. Lift heavy weights. -
🌽So if you think it’s too late, think you can’t lose fat, or think it will never happen for you, I am here to tell you, you CAN do it. I promise. Dial in your nutrition, increase protein, strength train, be consistent, and kick Mother Nature in the ass.

These are awesome for when you are trying to lose fat. If your goal is to gain muscle and your calorie intake allows for more calories. Double up on the eggs or add egg whites and increase the quantity of all the other ingredients
