Let’s talk science and how it can help us with health and fitness! Scientifically, counting your calories and macros is going to yield the best results. DO NOT FOLLOW FAD DIETS. I’ve been into lifting for about five years, and I’ve always been conscious of my body composition. Only until recently have I discovered that actually monitoring the amount of calories I eat yields any lasting results!!! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 Why is this? .

It all has to do with energy balance, and that is scientifically proven! The first law of thermodynamics is 👉👉👉 .
🔥Energy (E) = Heat (Q) - Work (W)🔥

Think of “energy” as your basal metabolic rate (what your body needs to burn in order to sustain itself with no activity whatsoever). The “work” is any form of activity - lifting, running, hiking, etc. “Heat” is what you provide the system (your body) when it needs fuel -OR- the fat stores that your body already has!

Calories are just a form of energy for your body. If you EAT LESS CALORIES THAN YOU BURN, then you will lose weight (and eat more if want to gain weight). Your body WILL HAVE TO burn some of its fat stores to make up for lost energy when you are on this so-called “calorie deficit.” Its all just an energy balance, and this is why you burn calories (or fat stores) when you exercise. This is all SUPER COOL stuff, and when you break it down like this, it becomes simple to figure out how to achieve your specific goals. Like this post if you agree! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was going to stay as upset as I looked in this video but nah. I haven’t been under more than 135 LBS at the bar in a very long time because of my back condition, however I was feeling frisky and risky last night and worked my way up from 135-185, all reps weren’t full squats at 185, but I’m proud of you Massi, you killed it yesterday given all circumstances. Happy hump day 🐫
