Happy Friday 💛

Breaking the rules and posting a transformation photo on Friday. The first photo is May 2017 and the second photo is yesterday. I've lost about 15 pounds since the first photo and over 7 pounds in just the last 6 weeks!
I don't necessarily focus on the scale too, too much but seeing it goes down makes me so proud. I couldn't figure out for the longest time why I wasn't losing the weight, in fact, I was gaining weight. It was frustrating.
I started tracking my meals, drinking less (although I don't drink a ton anyway), consistently training 6-7 times a week, stopped making excuses, and started drinking water A LOT. (Most of these changes I started in the beginning of this year) Your life doesn't have to completely change for your body to change, but tiny changes can go a long way! I had birthday cake, mimosas, and snacks all last weekend but I had done so well up until then that I still lost weight this week. You can still live while trying to be a little bit healthier!

What's on the scale doesn't have to be a priority for you and it's definitely not for me, but it's something that helps me measure my progress! I'm proud of my progress so far and I'm excited to see where I go 🌻

You will never progress of you don't push yourself hard hard enough. Problem I noticed people have, they prefer to stay in comfort zone repeating same stuff over and over again expecting different results. ➖➖➖➖➖➖

One that usually works doesn't taste best, right?
Why would you expect something easy to change you.

Success in any matter of life is dependent on how hard you will work for it.
Very often we look for easy fix just to shorten the tims needed to achieve what we plan.

And you know what?

We learn from them, it will take you a while to relise that shortcuts are not a way to go.

🍚 🥖 🍩 Carbs are king! Meaning that we all love them and I understand that they are the tastiest of the 3, at least I think so, although I'm sure I am also one of the biggest meat eaters around!  But I digress, carbohydrates are the fastest acting macronutrient for transferring 🏃 energy to your body, they are so fast that our body doesn’t like to store them for too long.  This means that if we are in need of glucose for energy immediately then we are best to get it from our meals, if you are on a low carb programs then we can still utilize them from our proteins and fats.


😴 Ever get tired because you haven’t eaten anything and you immediately feel better after carbs but quickly go into a carb coma?  Its because your pancreas is working way too hard to send insulin to all parts of the body, and then leaves you feeling tired or cranky.  Low carb programs may make you feel sluggish and less motivated as well because the liver doesn’t have enough glucose stored to ship it out to the brain 🧠, but ketones eventually take on this responsibility and individuals may feel more focused and invigorated because they have adapted and developed ketone bodies that supply the transfer of nutrients when glucose is low and not available, this can always be a different experience for every person.

• 🐟 🐡 🐠 Fats are just as important as they promote the regulation of our hormones in our body, especially our post workouts as they release epinephrine/norepinephrine, growth hormone, and transport vitamins and minerals.  Most fats are transported as triglycerides and are made up of three fatty acid molecules… SAY WHAT? 🧐


Epinephrin and norepinephrine are hormones that respond to your “fight or flight” senses and promote the glycogen breakdown. 👊🏻

I know I took a long break from insta, but it was needed. I didn't want to think about fitness. I am still working on my shoulder injury 3 times a week and time will tell if it helps or not. Unfortunately during the last couple of weeks I injured my biceps/forearm tendon. Now I also have to deal with this.. I immediately stopped working my biceps and back, icing it 3 times a day. I'll try training my back next week with light weights and do exercises that don't hurt...... ➡️I am not forcing myself in the gym anymore, it is definitely not worth it. I am trying to strengthen my body to not get injured anymore. Concentrating more on muscle contraction and not the weight anymore. Using lighter weights and making it harder for the muscle by extending time under tension. Train smart, avoid injuries!

Instaya uzun bir ara verdiğimi biliyorum. İhtiyacım vardı buna. Fitness ve kas gelişimini düşünmek istemedim. Omzumun sakatlığına hala haftada üç gün çalışıyorum ve yardımı olup olmadığını zaman gösterecek. Malesef bir kaç hafta önce sol biceps tendonunu sakatladim, birde bununla uğraşıyorum. Sırt ve biceps çalışmayı bıraktım bir süreliğine ve günde üç defa buz tutuyorum. Haftaya sırtımı yavaş ve hafif bir şekilde calismaya başlarım. ➡️Kendimi artık fazla zorlamamaya karar verdin. Bu kadar sakatlığa değmez. Artık sadece vücudumu sakatliklardan korumak için güçlendirmeye çalışıyorum. Kaldırdığım ağırlığa değil, kasların doğru kasilmasina dikkat ediyorum. Zor olsun diye kaslarin gerilim suresini uzun tutuyorum.... Akıllı antrenman yapın, sakatlıktan uzak durun!

A lot of times I get people asking me if they can look like a certain Instagram model in 12 weeks or six weeks????

I tell them the people you see on Instagram that look fit and healthy has taking them years to look like that nothing happens overnight not even in 12 weeks!

Unfortunately people really don’t understand this and they’re looking for quick fixes and they go on yo-yo diets or take pills or magic shakes and things like that hoping that they can turn out and looked away their favorite Instagram model or a celebrity!

Small slow steady results is a positive and a victory when it comes to health and fitness don’t be overwhelmed by these models and don’t compare yourself to them everybody is different!

Focus on achieving small results and setting small goals and over the next couple years yes with a healthy diet and consistent training you can end up looking exactly like these girls do on Instagram or your favorite celebrity!!!!
