Happy Friyay fam! 🤗This week I got to the gym just twice and wasn’t super active aside from chasing my dog around the neighborhood this morning 😅
Years ago that would have bothered me and I would freak out about missing a day. But y’all. I’m still alive. I’m good. I haven’t gained 25 lbs. I haven’t lost all my muscle. And guess what. You won’t either! Life happens! Keep things in perspective, girl! There’s more to life than calories. There’s more to life than a perfect body. 1. Because there’s no such thing 2. Your body is meant to SUPPORT your life. We take care of it so we can be and do more. 💃🏻 Currently waiting on a tow truck because of that #lifehappens thing. 🐝I remember the days of spending sometimes up to 3 hours in the gym, adding in extra exercises that weren't on plan, & not being able to leave the gym until my fitness tracker had told me I had burned X amount of calories ( FYI not reliable anyway) & having a right old melt down if something meant I couldn't make it to the gym at the time it felt the "norm".

😎There is a difference if your training for an event or competition , then almost your mindset does need to very focused & a little obsessional but that's very different from most of us crazy cats whose main aim is to simply feel healthier, lose some fat get stronger, but I do think there is a trend of people feeling like they have to train like a bodybuilder, powerlifter, cross fit competitor, & totally you can train whatever style you like, but remember their competition training goal is very different to yours.

🐞That's not to say you shouldn't be committed & take it seriously, because your health is a very important matter but the main problem I see is when people start viewing it purely as a calorie burning activity, or they've misinterpreted information they've read they think that if they just keep doing more & more then the results will get better & better ,when actually the results will probably grind to a halt because your permanently under recovered.

-🐝Best mindset is always put your best effort into training, know that you burned some calories,as to how many well who knows leave the gym feeling achieved & get on with your day full making sure you move regularly.

🙇🏼‍♀️The best thing you can do is view your training like the smiley face & as nothing else. That way the gym doesn't feel like a "calorie burning prison " but a place where you can progressively experience feeling better & better.

👍🏻 I compare my old mindset to today's mindset & my god I feel soooo different I'm going to go so far & say feel liberated. I'm in the training game long term not short term. Don't let this be you, maybe today is the today to start viewing things a little differently.

Yesterday I got the chance to go to the gym again 🙌🏼 10mins on the treadmill, 2000m rowing machine, then they had that thing where the letters in your name was a certain exercise so we done that, leg raises, crunches, burpees, ball slams, sit ups, squat pulses.
The time in the gym went so quick, i had to be somewhere so that's all I could fit in.

Today was rough. My body didn't want to work out. Felt like I was trying new weights, though I wasn't.
@katgettinghealthy felt the same. Wonder what's our problem is. Haha. One more week til we start core workouts. I expect it to be painful and exhausting.

Week 9, day 3 workout included;
Deadlift 135x15 (working on my form. I think I did well.)
Overhead press 70x15
Squats 250x15
Pullups 160x15 (160 assist)
Bench press 115x15
Overhead pull downs 77x15
Overhead kettle balls 25x15 (the 30lbs kettle ball seems to have vanished from the gym)
Lat punches 80x15
Bear hugs 50x15
Curls 25x15 (each arm)
Flys 10x15
