⚫ Injury Prevention:
Developing strong glutes is not only essential for optimal performance, but also can decrease your risk for injury in the knees, lower back, hamstrings and groin.
Weak glutes can cause an imbalance in the hip, which may lead to excessive medial rotation of the femur and lateral tracking of the patella, thus potentially causing knee pain, notes Mark Young, exercise and nutrition consultant.
Strengthening your glutes decreases your risk for back injuries in exercises such as the deadlift and squat by taking some of the pressure off your lower back. Furthermore, weak glutes may also contribute to pulled muscles in your hamstring or groin.

Strong glutes are essential in almost every sport, as they are responsible for accelerating, decelerating, changing directions and creating explosive power in jumps. They are also responsible for effective hip extension.
Sprinting is one of the most effective exercises for simulating the glutes, activating 234 percent more of the gluteus maximus muscle than a vertical jump. Athletes with strong glutes will be faster, more efficient and explosive in their movements than athletes with weaker glutes.

Day 17 Plank: Low Side Plank, Rotate, and Leg Lift
Assume a right side plank position with your feet stacked and your left hand behind your head.
Keeping your hips high, rotate your left elbow to your right fist, then lift the left leg off the right with control.
Repeat this sequence for 45 seconds on the right, then do the same on the left.

This photo shows my results from a 3-day, gentle, plant-based detox I did about a year ago.
It's a great way to feel refreshed after the Thanksgiving holiday. I ate plenty of fruits, veggies and healthy fats and drank A LOT of water.
I felt GREAT after 3 days, and have repeated it 3 or 4 times since. I typically lose 5-6 pounds each time.
I'm opening up a small group after Thanksgiving with room for 5. You must sign up by 5 PM on Monday, November 19, 2018.
