I had a toxic mind before and a skewed way of looking at things. I’m in no way perfect now, but i can tell you it all starts from within. -
Yes, i started this journey because i hated myself and hated how i looked.. but i continue it every single day because I LOVE MYSELF!!!!! 💘💓

Side note: you see how on the left my foot is turned in? In about any picture from middle school- sophomore year of college i did that in pictures. I thought it made me seem like i had a thigh gap. Seeing that in almost every picture i scrolled through made me so sad for myself that i was so afraid for my thighs to touch. LOOK AT ME NOW! Self improvement is the best shit. -

If you have a job like mine: 9+ hrs in office... meetings with clients, internal meetings, endless emails, minutes😵 It’s so easy to fall off the fitness wagon and I feel you!👋🏼🙇🏻‍♀️
All I wanted to do off work is to lie down💤 and count the days till I can binchwatch Netflix over the weekend😪
So I went on and did a good old 4K speed run and ended up spending all day at the park doing free exercises🤸🏻‍♀️🤼‍♀️ 🧚🏼‍♀️

I can definitely say there has been some refinement in my life! Ive learned a lot over the past several months studying for my two certification tests and starting my own business.

You decided to have a lazy weekend at home...
You watch some T.V,
Play with your dog,
Scroll through instagram,
Then you remember your mum’s leftover pizza from the night before and all of sudden, not knowing how you got there, you’re standing in the kitchen staring at those 4 slices of mouth watering peri peri chicken pizza with extra cheese...
You shouldn’t…
But you will…
No you won’t…
Yes you will...
Okay maybe just a slice…
One slice quickly turns to 4, a block of cadbury chocolate and half a tub of Ben and Jerry’s.
Then comes guilt and frustration.

Boredom does NOT have to end this way. Try these tips out next time you find yourself getting bored at home:
🏠 GET OUTTA THE HOUSE! Take your dog for a walk, go for a walk to grab a coffee, ANYTHING that is going to take you out of that environment. If you don’t want to leave the house…
😴 Put the pizza down and STEP AWAY FROM THE KITCHEN! Seriously! Humans are lazy. Go upstairs or to a different room and watch T.V there. The more effort you have to put in to getting to the food, the less likely you are to go to it.
🤓 Entertain your MIND AND BODY. Read a book, listen to a podcast, put some music on and dance while cleaning your room, whatever keeps that brain and those hands occupied.
If its not there, you won’t eat it! Simple. Minimise the amount of calorie dense ready to eat foods in your pantry

Focus, Speed, Power, Confidence - All these things are what need to summon to be successful. Most of us can summon a few of the above mentalities/characteristics but have a hard time to summon them all at once, to truly embody it. That limitation most often comes from not living in the moment. There is a reason the here and now is called the present 🎁 it is a gift. The beauty of life, especially when living it on your own terms, is indescribable. However that’s a lot easier said then done, but it is our responsibility to make sure we are having and enjoying the life we truly want. If we don’t, then that’s on us and we have to do everything on our power to get on track and live our life!

3sets each: 🔥Leg press: 2 plates x15, 3 plates x12, 4 plates x 6-8
Superset: 50lb barbel curtesy lunges 10-12 each leg
Cable kickbacks: drop set 15lb x 15, 20lb x 12, 25lb x 8
Abduction machine: squat/hover just above the seat. (Lean forward until you feel the glutes Fire!🔥)
Drop set 130lb x 15, 145lb x 12, 160lb x 8-10
Leg extension: drop set & 3 sec eccentric movement ( 3 count to lower legs, 1 sec contraction. “Explode” on the way up!) 😉 15,12,8 reps
Supper set: Lying leg curls drop set, 3sec eccentric 15,12,8 reps

LIVING FOR THE NOW

How often do you find yourself wishing for the future? Or being really excited about what’s to come, and not spending enough time appreciating what’s happening right in front of you?
I think the easiest way for you all to relate to this, is think about when you were younger and all you wanted to do was be in college, or be 21, or have a family.
We’ve all done it. We’ve all thought of our future and kinda wish we were already there.
We wish we can just skip everything and be to where life is “good”.
One thing my parents always said to me was “you’re gonna miss this.”
👉🏻 they said i would miss being young
👉🏻 that i would miss middle school 👉🏻 that i would miss high school
👉🏻 and that i needed to stop trying to get out of college, because i would miss that too.
I was telling them about what i wanted to do with my life, and how i “couldn’t wait” for that to happen... and again i was told i would miss where i am right now.
Here’s the thing: you can be excited for your future and what you will build with your life, but don’t let that completely overbear the life you have currently. Because “right now” is very worth celebrating and living.

Another thing, i was talking to my dear friend @thehumblelion_ . She said something like “everyone says your 20s are the best years of your life, but I’m not sure if that’s true”
I responded swiftly, “I really hope I’m never older and sit and think about the ‘glory days’, because i believe if we live it right - we never have to leave them”.
.
So today? Even if you’re struggling and you just want the rest of your life/the good part of life to “happen”... take the next few moments to say out loud what you love about your life right now. What makes you smile? What’s your favorite thing to smile about right now? What are you doing to create that life you so desperately want? Is this stage of growth amazing? Are you loving the process?
I know I’ll look back at where i am right now and day dream about how i was living.
I’m so happy with where I’m at and I’m happy for the future. Can you say the same?

This was the last set of a pretty grueling tedious morning of working on a skill set I’ve only began to learn about a year ago. So many people say they want to be better in certain areas of their lives but so few are willing to show up daily to make that change a reality.

Part of that is doing the work when you don’t feel like it: i definitely wasn’t super excited or motivated to put in this work. I was tired & had a groggy mindset. But i showed up.
-
The other part about getting better in any area of life is giving certain people permission to challenge you to stay consistent. Chip is that for me. Do I always like him? Nope (no offense Chip) Do I get mad or frustrated when I feel what he asks is unreasonable or hard? Yep. But down deep I have to remember this is an area of my life I said I wanted to be better in & told him about. And even when it sucks... or the feedback is tedious & critical ... he truly has my best interest in mind. So I choose to swallow my pride ... and go back to the bar one more time. I hope you choose to ‘go back to the bar’ in life today as well!

First up is my favorite “hardcore” ab exercise. This move is a true test of your core strength. To make it harder keep legs as straight as possible. Deadlift is getting stronger! Added 5lbs this week! Working out in @gourdgear leggings as always 🔥🔥🔥💗💗
