HOW TO ACHIEVE A FULL PUSH UP with 3 Home exercises that you can do TONIGHT! | This is an at home recipe for improving or achieving your push up:

INGREDIENTS:
1 x KB or a dumbbells
1 x will to be consistent with your training. The body will only adapt to the things you repeatedly do. If you repeatedly sit on your butt all day, the body will adapt to make you great at sitting down (flat butt and tight hips are a good example).

Method:
Step 1 - TUCK THAT BUTT! Instagram is notorious for spreading misaligned, click bait-y push up and plank positions. But it鈥檚 incorrect and if you continue to do it with your butt poking up in the air it will only leave you wondering why you still can鈥檛 do a proper push up.
.
Step 2: SINGLE ARM PRESS x 10-12 reps x 5 sets (from the floor). This one will help to strengthen your chest and arms. A common missing link for women especially in their chase for the push up! You鈥檙e only as strong as your weakest link.
.
Step 3: Skull Crusher x 12-15 reps x 3 sets - aside from 鈥榯oning the arms鈥 this exercise will help you to, again, strengthen those areas that are commonly a little weaker. .
Step 4: ECCENTRIC PUSH UP - This means slowly lowering to the floor (I do 5-8 seconds of lowering), then pushing back up in any way possible, reseting and then lowering again. By making your eccentric (lowering phase) really, really, really strong, you can improve your concentric strength too (the rising phase). You can apply this principle to everything, from pull ups to squats!

Step 4: do a thousand bicep curls when your crush is watching and make sure you count out loud. .

In reality鈥 I don鈥檛 鈥渟tay motivated.鈥 it鈥檚 pretty much impossible to stay motivated ALL the time. Motivation IS helpful in getting you started when you set a new goal, but you can鈥檛 depend on it 24/7 馃晳
.
What can you depend on, if not motivation?
.
The answer is ROUTINE. DISCIPLINE. HABITS. The more you 鈥榩ractice,鈥 the more you make your routine 鈥榓utomatic.鈥 After a while, the 鈥渉ard鈥 stuff like getting to the gym X days/week, eating enough protein, pushing through your workouts, etc don鈥檛 get easier per say, but you get BETTER and more consistent. These things become your new normal and you鈥檒l be more likely to stay on track towards your goal.

I鈥檓 a fan of habits because they are the 鈥榮tructure鈥 of your life. If you combine health and fitness behaviours into your structure, there鈥檚 no debate of 鈥渟hould I go to the gym today?鈥 or 鈥渟hould I stick to my nutrition plan?鈥. It鈥檚 just WHAT YOU DO.

If you鈥檙e struggling to reach your goals, take a minute and look at how you鈥檙e setting up your structure. Are you setting yourself up for success? How are you holding yourself accountable?

All right!!! I made it week 2! That鈥檚 something, right? Even though I followed the plan and kept my eating plan super tight (hard on #weekendmode ) I missed working out and was looking forward to the next #sweat session! So I banged it out today. It鈥檚 HARD and I鈥檓 not perfect but I try my best. If anything I鈥檓 getting my heart rate up. I don鈥檛 know how anyone does these #workouts in a gym...tried that today and it鈥檚 so embarrassing...I鈥檓 definitely doing this program at home if I can 馃ぃ anywho, it鈥檚 DONE for today and a killer start to the week!!! 鈽笍 Balance 鈽笍 - in high school, I started to take Fitness more seriously and setting goals for myself. Senior year, I was so committed to reaching these goals that I was at the gym working out literally twice a day, at a minimum of 5 days a week. I would go to school and workout for an hour during my weight training class, go to track practice practice for two hours and then head home to finish up homework before heading back to LA Fitness to workout for another 1.5-2 hours. -

Looking back on it, it was a lot to be putting my body through but I was hungry and knew what I wanted. Some people would joke and say that I practically lived at the gym and I would laugh it off but there is such a thing as spending too much time in there. I needed a way to balance out fitness goals and still have a social life and focus on school too. Over time, I鈥檝e developed a flexible schedule/routine for me where I decide what my workout split will be for the week and maximizing my efficiency and time in the gym. You don鈥檛 need to spend a certain amount of time in the gym to see progress, you just need to workout smart and know your body. -

This school quarter has been hectic and I had to start prioritizing and allocating my time which is why I鈥檓 working out an average of 4 days a week and had to stop training at LA Fitness. Overall, I feel better knowing that I can still maintain my physique, still set and work towards my fitness goals, and spend time focusing on school and other relationships because I learned how to balance it out. Having a balance is important in just about everything because it鈥檚 never healthy to have too much of this or too much of that. -

I鈥檓 about to take my last final for the quarter and I鈥檓 ready to get back into a more consistent routine and try to be more active on this Instagram especially for the new year coming around. Good luck on finals for everyone and keep grinding 馃挴馃挭馃徑
