Busy birthday season, AFL Grand Final and the start of warmer weather are upon us. So what are you doing to manage your social occasions around your diet?
TRACKING. This is so important when you lead an active social life or have an event or two over the weekend. What you need to do is ensure you are meeting the macros set out by your coach even while eating food outside of the regular routine.
For example when I know I am going out, I will limit foods high in carbohydrates/fats throughout the day as I know the meal I'll be having will be high in both. I prioritise my protein intake to ensure I am hitting my miminum amount almost before I even leave the house.
When you start to eat well you don't have to be a robot eating perfectly, you just have to learn how to manage your food and account for what you might be having for dinner.
