How-to: Dandayamana Janushirasana (or standing head to knee pose). Step 2: take a deep breath. Focus. Now, slowly lift/extend the left leg forward, parallel to the floor, and lock your left knee. Your toes should be flexed back and your heel should be forward. You can maintain your balance by continuing to engage your right thigh muscles and continuously kicking your left foot into the palms. Be sure to keep your fingers interlocked and keep both knees locked. You should look like an upside down "L" (lol).

How-to: Dandayamana Janushirasana (or standing head to knee pose). Step 1: Shift your weight to the right leg. Lift the left leg, bending at the knee, and plant your left foot firmly into your palms. All fingers should be interlocked (including the thumbs - unlike me in the picture lol). Make sure your right foot is flat and your right knee is locked. Focus and clear your mind. Then, engage (squeeze) the right thigh muscles and the muscles around the right knee to get the standing leg firm and strong. A strong/firm set-up goes a long way in this pose.

How-to: Dandayamana Janushirasana (or standing head to knee pose). Step 3: Slowly bend the elbows and pull forward. If you can, touch your forehead to the knee, rounding the spine. Your right foot should be flat, knees should be locked, fingers interlocked, and the core and thigh muscles should be engaged (squeezed) for stability. Hold there for a few seconds, taking deep breaths. When you're ready to get out of the pose, slowly lift your head, lengthening the spine, and extend your arms again. Move the arms and the left leg inward towards the body, bending your left knee (back to Step 1). Then slowly place the left foot on the ground. *repeat with the opposite leg*

It's okay if you fall out of the pose a few times or if you can only do Step 1. The more you practice the better you will execute the pose 😊
