Back and chest development has been pretty exponential in the last year. Attributed to nothing but good ole’ progressive overload on the compound lifts. Focus on the basics - they will take you far.

Sleep is something that so many people neglect. I also suffer with insomnia which doesn’t help at all especially when my minds racing at a million miles and hour😫 however I’m really working on this and would love to sleep 8hojrs every night so atm I haven’t succeeded that as my first night was only 6 hours and my 2nd was 7. But I’ve tried tracking my sleep to be aware of it so I can improve it and keep on top of it. .

Sleep helps in your mentality and helps your body recover. It is so so important to be able to function properly the next day so make sure you keep on top of it!!! ❤️

✨Do you ever feel like you suddenly hit a plateau? You've been going to the gym consistently and eating well but have stopped seeing results? For YEARS I was stuck at a 205 lb squat PR. I mean senior year of high school to senior year of college. There are a TON of reasons why you could be plateauing, for me it was being inconsistent.

✨My goal as to go to the gym at least 4-5 times a week. Starting off freshman year of college I definitely slacked. I signed up for crossfit and would go maybe two time a week BUT had volleyball 3 times a week. So here I wasn't strength training but I was at least keeping my cardiovascular health in shape.

✨Fast forward a couple years and I started dating someone who was interested in the gym, used to play sports, but didn't make it a priority, so I didn't either. I eventually quit crossfit because I wasn't going often, and used the habits of someone else as an excuse to not go consistently.

✨Then, about a year and half ago I made one of these accounts, I was going more often and eating better most of the time... except days after I went out. I worked in a bar within waking distance of so many other bars and would wake up the next morning wanting to eat some kind of salty soup like pho or ramen, or I'd go buy a frozen pizza because I was too lazy to cook. So even if I went to the gym, I was not fueling my body with what it needed to get stronger.

💪🏼Now, I go to the gym 4-6 times a week, I meal prep most of my food so I never have an excuse to go eat a burger somewhere, and I have been seeing all the results I've been after for years! I also implement PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD! I basically vary all my workouts and don't do the same exact weight or rep scheme. If I did 4x12 at 50 lbs last week, I'll try 5x8 at 65 lbs, or some other variation. You have to be honest with yourself. Are you REALLY being as consistent as you think you are? And if you are, are you doing the same things every single time you go to the gym? Tag a friend and like this if this post helped at all! Oh I also finally broke that squat PR at 215! 🏋🏼‍♀️ .

All my life I've been small/skinny and I've decided to do this change for myself NOT for anyone else. Those who have followed me through my journey would know what I'm talking about and you can see my posts of how far I've come along but I'm not stopping here I'll be pushing myself each day because I got goals 🙌
