It's your attitude at the beginning of the task that determines success or failure. At the end of the day it's all about reaching ur goal; how u get there is up to you. Learning it's an every day process. I've always been the type of person who enjoyed staying active; since a young age I did some dancing, tried soccer then later when I was 16 joined a gym for the first time going 3 times a week later as years went by had periods of stopping (pregnancy affected my energy and drive level BIG time) BUT one thinks that if you are regularly going and exercising it's fine bc one is trying to focus on immediate obvious goals ( e.g weightloss mainly.... ) I would say yes of course better than NOT going; better than sitting on the couch and not exercising BUT there is always room for improvement and stg to improve even if you have trained your whole life. At the end it's a lifestyle, a way of living. I'm surrounded by people who constantly tell me that and I also pass that message to others. If you go to a gym; if you take a group class it's great for your wellbeing because staying active stimulates the mind and the body BUT if you want to change something OR improve on performance you have to challenge yourself to the next level every time. You have to train the RIGHT way! Challenge yourself and be consistent.
A few months ago I could never picture myself doing this! You need a push sometimes and people who challenge u and remind u to believe in yourself. It's not a sign of weakness to ask for help because learning takes place by learning from others. It's simply saying : I CAN not do it all on my own and may need help from time to time!

My education and work experience is mainly in mental health with an interest in fitness and subsequently I have become also a fitness professional as time has gone by. My interest has been to educate the community on how to make exercise an integral part of their routine as well as making it accessible in health community services. FMBI promotes an approach that I've experienced at the professional and personal level to be successful (if consistent): The importance of reaching out to others for support and motivation ( exercise & overall life matters), being consistent (as much as possible!) with a healthy lifestyle and NOT giving up. In 2014 I had a serious car accident that led to constant back and hip pain in addition to fear of driving but never stopped working on myself; I'm stubborn that way.... Physio, cardio cycling, yoga, support and strength training helped with the mental and physical recovery. Progress has been made. Since 2016 I have been focusing on challenging myself to the next level bc fitness and life goals never end. I have been doing things I never thought I could like pushing a 250lbs sled (the heaviest for me) across a long distance! Recently I have not experienced any pain while training hard! Training on a daily basis helps me stay strong to continue my work in mental health as well as in fitness. Both fields are my passion and I'm determined to continue passing the message of the incredible benefits of following a healthylifestyle has on mental wellbeing because I experience it daily. Working on staying physically and mentally strong allows me to also continue enjoying and taking care of my family and friends.
