☝🏽 Who knows what Arnold 21’s are?!
Don’t limit the “21’s” method to just your biceps. This is an old school bodybuilding technique where you perform partial reps for maximal time under tension, to overload the muscle.

I apply this method to all muscle groups. My clients know what I mean! 🔥😏😉.

💡TRY:
LYING HAMSTRING CURLS with the Arnold 21’s method.
▪️7 reps from start position to mid way up
▪️7 reps mid way up to end position
▪️7 reps FULL RANGE, full contractions!
❗️Optional “kill off the hams, 10 sec static holds”
💡TIP: Keep your gluten squeezed during the whole set. This not only allows for better hamstring contractions but also minimizes risk of your lower back from kicking in.

Do you incorporate 1️⃣ Stiff leg deadlifts and 2️⃣ Hip thrusts in your posterior chain days 🤔?
These exercises are a must do, to not only build your glutes and hamstrings, but to be strong and powerful during your big lifts.
If you experience any back pain with stiff leg deadlifts, get a professional to take a look at your 1. pelvic tilt, 2. hinge, 3. learn to brace your core. A progression of dead bugs are my one of my favourite ways to teach clients how to brace. 💛SAVE & TRY MY POST CHAIN WORKOUT FOR ANOTHER DAY:
▪️Sumo Deadlifts (5-6 sets total, 5-8 reps)
▪️Stiff Leg Deadlifts (4 sets, 10-12 reps)
▪️Smith Machine Hip Thrusts (4 sets, 15-20 reps)
▪️ super set with Monster walks (4 sets, 15 reps)

Strength, courage, power do not exclude kindness, understanding, and consideration. You can be strong and kind at the same time. You can be courageous and understanding. You can be powerful and considerate.
Gym time is my time, when I zone in and get what I need to get done, done. I could look quite unapproachable when I’m training as I’m sure most people do, but I make sure to help anyone who looks like they’re struggling (aka helping new gym goers set up their machine, or help take weights off for the older population), smile when I make eye contact, let people set in with me etc.
It just makes that much more of a difference in my opinion. A positive environment makes everyone feel comfortable.. too many unnecessary altercations happen at the gym which turn people off and I ain’t bout that!! LOL. I despise hearing about my clients being bullied off machines, or even worse people hogging equipment and refuse to share, them stay on their phone for 10 min.
So, the next time you go to the gym, try complimenting someone, help someone out who looks like their struggling, share the machine, and just stay humble ☺️.

Enjoying the ups and the downs of this prep. By God grace, and strength to endure there's no quits in my blood. 2.5 weeks out baby, still full while I'm drying out, and aiming to peak on time, let's get it. .

Yes I ate more and lifted heavier. In the left picture I also had leaky gut, which made gaining weight so much more difficult. 1000th post 🎉 !
Thought it would be the perfect time to throw up a transformation of the both of us 😉, and to reintroduce where I’ve come from.
My fitness journey started 9 years ago, when I was 18.
I went to school for Fitness and Lifestyle Management - a 3 year program compressed into 2 years which focused on kinesiology, muscle physiology, biomechanics, nutrition and client centred service.
I took this program in hopes of getting myself healthy, to meet my future husband (18 year old thoughts 😂), and to have fitness and health to be the foundation for my future family.
This was all prior to meeting Antwane.
I was blessed, met him on the first day of class, and made it official the following week 😘. Antwane always pushed me, always told me that I had potential, and believed that I could reach the goals I had set out for myself. We always make jokes and say how he loved and accepted me at all shapes and sizes LOLLLL!

We trained together almost every day in between classes. To the couples out there, I encourage you guys to workout together. You will have such a special bond.. now - I only say this if you are supportive, I mean REALLY supportive of each other.
Believe it or not, there are couples out there who are subconsciously competitive with each other, which leads to a toxic relationship.. I’ve seen this with my own eyes.

Fast forward to today, we co-own @fitlifeathletics, have amazing clients, travel, accomplished many goals we set out for ourselves, and continuously strive to impact peoples lives.

It’s crazy how the roles reversed in our weight 😂 .. oh and my head is ACTUALLY not as big anymore! Haha!
