What an eventful weekend! .
Our friend/client @coachavp1 took home 4th out of a tough masters class! This category had all the masters and grandmasters combined.

We made great improvements to Antonio’s physique and posing from his last show, and off season.

We remember back in the day when you said β€œbodybuilding is next level man, that sh*t is tough!”.

10/8/6/10 reps 1:2 squats. Worked up to 205 lbs. Definitely feeling better about each rep. Keeping in mind to have legs abducted!

Sumo block deadlift with pause worked up to 110kg / 243lbs 8-10 reps 4 sets
Need to remember to stay tight and shoot hips back when dropping the bar.

Bench with 1 inch block worked up to 43kg / 95lbs for 10 reps 4 sets
Worked on bar path, narrowed my grip a bit and concentrated more on the eccentric phase. I swear the ER rack made a difference. Felt good lol β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

DL-3: 345.5kg/761lbs.
This was the most meaningful lift of the year for me. It is the first 3rd Deadlift I have hit since 340.5kg at the Pan American Championships in June last year. Since then, I've missed 341 at 2017 Provs and 2018 Nats, and 337.5 at 2018 IPF World's.

Going in to this meet, I felt that I had reached my ceiling in the conventional deadlift, and sumo would be what carries me into the future. Now, I am not so certain.

Hitting this deadlift, though at a heavier bodyweight, got both the 800kg Total and 340.5kg Deadlift off my back. Now it's time to do it at -93kg.

We were able to witness our client Jon put on an XL shirt on for the first time in a LONG time, just yesterday!
.
From his heaviest @ 326lbs right at the point of getting to a 4XL shirt, 48 pant size at age 17, he decided change was needed.
.
Jon came to us after losing 19 lbs on his own. He broke out of the 300’s, 290’s, 280’s, and is now 276lbs (now size 40 pants)!!!
.
He has been committed to his nutrition plan that was made for his lifestyle and goals. This young powerlifter has actually has gotten stronger, has gained much more lean mass by eating the right amounts of food he needed as well as the right powerlifting coaching by @yeunglorraine πŸ’•.
