My kinda day with my friend @michelleloulan ♥️ Spent the day together which ended in a sleep over and then she gave me a taste of @meshyoga technique which I’m now obsessed with. She’s also the first person I followed on Instagram when I started my insta journey. Her strength, flexibility, beauty and grace inspires me. But more so, thank you for being such a good friend and comforting me when I cry, taking me shopping and eating all the good food. ♥️
Sometimes I think I am so used to living a “fit & healthy” lifestyle that I don’t look back to acknowledge how far I’ve come. Which is probably why I rarely post transformations - I have been maintaining for quite some time. It wasn’t until I had other friends telling me that I look so much leaner than I did even a year ago that I started to notice that about myself. We truly are our own worst critics 🤦🏻♀️ Not only have I learned how to live a balanced lifestyle, but I have developed a much better relationship with food and exercise. Most importantly — I have gained self-confidence 👊🏽 Do I still have things I don’t love that I can work on? Yes! But the difference is I don’t dwell on that or let it bring me down. My mind AND body are both in a MUCH better place than 3 years ago when I started this journey and it feels good to take a second to be proud of that! 😌💪🏽✨ #beproud#transformationtuesday#transformyourbody#transformyourmind#bodyconfidence

You look at Orangetheory or a Barry’s Bootcamp, 70 % of the studio is treadmills and rowers, which means that 70% of your workout is a treadmill and a rower. In three years times and five years times, guess what they’ll be doing? Treadmills and rowers- they are fads. Whether you like it or not, Orangetheory and Barry’s Bootcamp won’t be around in ten years. “Soulcycle is very similar. It’s one discipline. You get on a bike, you’re riding, you leave. They’re actually already facing issues in filling their classes, because it’s starting to already look like it’s becoming a little bit of a fad, because it gets boring getting on a cycle bike every single day. It’s something you can do once a week or maybe twice a week or maybe once a month even. “The beautiful thing about F45 is that all the equipment you see at the end of the night moves out to the side of the room. That gives us flexibility. We don’t have big cumbersome equipment like a treadmill. Size matter! 😅⠀ ⠀ 📚 I recently posted about vegetable oils and how they are mostly responsable for the increase calorie intake in our modern diet. ⠀ ⠀ 📆 For example, from 1970 to 2010, in US, average calorie intake increased by 450 cal per day. ⠀ ⠀ The big reason is especially an overall increase of portion sizes in restaurants, food chains etc. ⠀ ⠀ A typical popcorn 🍿 portion at the movie theater 20 years ago was about 5 cups and 270 cal, today is 1 big basket ranging between 630 to 850 cal!⠀ ⠀ A cheeseburger 🍔 was 330 cal 20 years ago, now it's 590 to 800. ⠀ ⠀ 📉 There are plenty of similar example that tells us that mastering portion size is a very important skill to have, especially when it comes to weight-loss. ⠀ ⠀ 🤲🏻 A good rule is to use your hand to measure it. A complete meal should have a palm of protein, a hand size of veggies, a thumb of fats and carbs equal to a cupped hand. That could be double if you're a man. ⠀ ⠀ What about ice-cream 🍨 and desserts 🍮 ? Sticking to the kids size is probably a good idea :) ⠀

Lunch today was a big ass salad! Boy did it hit the spot 😋 my go-to salad consists of a basic greens mix, capsicum, cucumber, tomato, avocado, carrot, cheese, beetroot, corn, with tuna, and topped off with pepitas and sunflower seeds. If you know of any awesome salads I should try, let me know! 🥗
