Smiling and thinking about how far I've come. I used to eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, and as much of it as I wanted. I used to neglect exercise, and preferred sitting on my butt over going for a walk. One day I looked in the mirror, and admitted I wasn't happy with the women I was turning into 🙅🏾‍♂️ From that point, my entire mindset changed, and my actions followed. What a goddamn feeling of accomplishment. I can't believe I'm here, stoked and smiling after completing my first Spartan Race in under an hour - only three weeks after getting a concussion. Real talk I only registered for this race so I could do push-ups in the Giants locker room and box jumps on the field, but literally every minute was as rewarding as it was challenging. I'm officially hooked. #iamspartan

What a full day of eating at work looks like for me. I normally eat breakfast before I rush out the door so it's not pictured. Morning snack is vanilla triple zero Greek yogurt with cinnamon and blueberries, lunch is lemon pepper baked chicken, butternut squash risotto(which is amazing), and a tomato basil rice cake topped with laughing cow cheese, and honey smoked turkey. I usually eat every 2-3 hours. Last week I didn't meal prep for the first time in forever and my life felt so unorganized. I don't know how people live without prepping.😂

Shopping spoils... had the best time in the mall!! And yes it was crazy busy but found a cute new dress and some other items!! It felt great just trying on smaller sizes and just making a day of it😍. It is so important to reward myself with this random trip after all the studying!! Resistance bands are amazing to add more resistance to your workouts, and perfect for leaning and shaping the booty.. .

BUt is there such thing as too many resistance bands? YUP! I could barely move with 5 and while it burn like hell it was not practical at all.. .

“30 Days of Gratitude” Days 15-18 ::
All of these are related category-wise, so I figured I’d combine them.

Day 15- I’m über grateful that I go to @equinox. It’s not “just a gym.” What separates Equinox from the others is their high standards when it comes to… everything. The cleanliness of their facilities, they hire the best trainers & group instructors, their exercise machines are the latest models, their friendly customer service. In the Equinox I go to, you’re not just another member, they not only greet you by your name but the employees actually know you.

Day 16- I’m so grateful that from June of this year to now, I’ve released 40 pounds. I’ve lowered by body fat percentage & have gained muscle. I’ve been wanting to lose weight for a very long time & this is finally the year that I made it happened due to committing to the process. I made a lifestyle change instead of focusing on a quick fix.

Day 17- I am grateful for the multiple trainers that I’ve worked with within the last 3.5 months. Each one has taught me something different which has yielded amazing results in my weight loss journey.
When I first hired my main trainer (Mario), he told me that he’ll work on my mindset as well & I didn’t believe him because I was hiring him for exercise stuff but he delivered on that mindset stuff & I no longer need anyone to motivate or push me. I do that to myself everyday. I also push myself to the almost impossible everyday because he set the bar so high for me. Much higher than I ever thought existed & now that high point has become an everyday normal to me.

Day 18- I’m über grateful to know proper nutrition (even though I don’t follow it on every meal). I was talking to my kettlebell trainer yesterday & I told her that I have the commitment & discipline when it comes to fitness but I’ve struggled w/being consistent w/nutrition. She reminded me that it’s extremely hard to become disciplined in multiple things at once & to be truly successful with it, you need to tackle each one individually so now that I’m disciplined w/fitness, I can commit to becoming disciplined w/nutrition.
