One of the best movements to challenge your quads at their shortened range, is a leg extension. It seems like a simple enough machine, sit down and extend at your knees… Not quite.

There are 3 different variables you’re going to want to look out when setting up for a leg extension to get the most from each set!

Number 1, align the axis of the machine with the knee joint. This aligns the lever of the machine with the lever of your leg, synchronising them both as they move, allowing you to keep tension on the quad, throughout. Line them up by moving the back padding forward or back.

Number 2, Stability. If you’re someone that records themselves doing leg extensions, this one’s for you. See those 2 handles either side of your ass? USE THEM! Force is produced in a stable environment. If you aren’t pulling yourself into the seat, tight, the load is going to shift off your quads.

Number 3, Set your leg padding just above the ankle joint and think about pointing your toes up. The further this padding is from the knee the more difficult it’s going to be.

Going to talk a little realism. About 50% or even slightly more of this transformation was achieved by giving myself a right good wedgie, better lighting and showing myself off a little better with angles. 🤷‍♀️ learning your angles which you look best and finding the perfect lighting takes a lot more practice than you'd think 🤦‍♀️ .

Building muscle takes a lot of time and patience! The other 50% is a result of the hard graft I have been putting in lifting weights for the past 9-10 weeks 🏋️‍♀️ I don't see a huge huge difference in my legs in relevance to size, but I am starting to see slight definition when flexing and a bit more peachyness in my booty 🍑 .
