You guys, this is my FIRST real workout in over TWO weeks.... YUP. Two freaking weeks.

With the wedding festivities followed by a relaxing Honeymoon, I did more than unplug, I COMPLETELY unplugged and rejuvenated. I knew I needed a bit of a break, but my body is currently hating me for taking that LONG of a break!!

In the past, I would've totally stressed out and beat myself up over this. Now? I know I have the tools at my fingertips to get back on track and lose the extra bloat // weight gain.

This is a lifestyle change --- not a quick fix. .

I'm picking right back where I left, I'm easing back in this week and starting Day ONE of my full 21 day program on Monday! This is the very first program I completed on my Beachbody journey --- it helped me to lose over 7 pounds in 3 weeks and jumpstart my 25+ pounds weight loss journey.

I really do understand the struggle. I've been there. I've lived it. College or Grad School or Med School or Working Full Time - It's HARD and the constant studying and working and stress will find their way out on you and your body. •
First year of med school I found my way to a healthy weight and exercise routine. But then rotations started and I would travel far from home and work long long hours and slowly but surely that weight crept back on by the beginning of fourth year (photo on the left). I found myself turning to food for support and comfort and would frequently reward myself with candy for the long nights of studying. •
One day I'd had enough. I was overweight. I was unhappy. I was doing this whole healthy living and finding balance in medical school thing alone. •
So I joined this group of supportive women who were just as busy, just as stressed, just as ____ [insert any blank I could tell myself] as me. •
.... I've honestly have never looked back. My coach is a resident and I remember thinking if she can do it, then I sure can do it too. •
It's been 2 years and I'm loving every second! I've not only learned to eat to fuel my body but I've gained self confidence unlike anything I had in the past. And that translates far beyond my outer appearance. I feel better with the outlet of workouts and having group support for my accountability. I'm happier. I'm more grateful. I'm surrounded by positivity. •
Here I am, September 2017, and I'm telling YOU that if I can find time to workout and eat healthy while spending 60-80 hours a week in the hospital and another few reading and learning and another few running an online coaching business THEN YOU CAN DO IT TOO. We all have the same 24 hours in a day. Why not make them count. •

Wer von euch zählt eigentlich Kalorien? 🙌🏻
Ich habe von dem ganzen Hype rund um Low carb, low fat, Low Whatever, ehrlich gesagt ziemlich Abstand genommen. Klar, alles mal ausprobiert und verschiedenste Ergebnisse gehabt. Aber mir hat etwas ganz besonderes gefehlt: Nämlich der Spaß am Essen!
Warum immer Kalorien zählen?? Warum auf so vieles verzichten? Mein Gott, man lebt doch nur einmal. Und auf den Bildern, seht ihr ja, dass ich mal definierter und mal "weiblicher" bin. Je nachdem eben, ob ich gerade mal wieder genieße oder eine gesunde Woche einlege. Und da stehen nur ein paar Tage dazwischen! Ich denke also, man sollte sich gar nicht viel Kopf darum machen, außer man geht jetzt wirklich auf die Bühne. Lieber wohlfühlen und Spaß am Sport haben 😁🙌🏻❤️
Wie sehr ihr das? Führt ihr ein hartes Essensregiment oder gönnt ihr euch ab und an mal was und geht mit Freunden auch mal trinken oder kocht gemeinsam?

My back rolls have always been something I'm most self conscious of. There's no way to suck your back fat in like you can your stomach. It hangs out without you even realizing it- and for me it was way worse than I thought it was. When I saw the picture on the left of my MULTIPLE back rolls I was so upset. I'm now proud to say I've made a dent in reducing them. I still have a long way to go with my back. Eating clean and healthy doesn't have to be complicated or expensive or time consuming. I mostly prepped this salad over the weekend and so it was ready to eat come lunch time (all I did was cut the avocado and put all the toppings and dressing on). Simple and delicious!

One of the things I was most worried about when I made my Instagram public was kids seeing what I post (Have you spent a day listening to teenage gossip?? It's not pretty). In the end I decided that if I helped some of my girls understand how important self-love is, it would be worth it .

Its a chocolate peanut butter superfood shake & sunshine kind of day!!☺✌ Got up super early (3:45) and crushed my workout, checked in with my challengers and my up line, had coffee and breakfast and got the kids ready for school...all before 8 a.m.!! Little miss Arriana is here for the day and just went down for a nap..so Im taking a minute outside to just feel the sunshine and sit still.

Brrr! It was actually pretty cold this morning and finally felt a bit like fall. 10 miles, and I really didn't warm up until the end. Time to invest in some gloves and arm warmers! Yesterday I was reading about having a GROWTH MINDSET which means that our abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. To me this means that if I constantly practice something and have the mindset that I will improve, then over time I will see progress. It may not be fast or easy, but it will happen.
It starts with POSITIVE self talk. Tell yourself that you are STRONG and BEAUTIFUL even when you don’t necessarily feel that way. Tell yourself that you CAN finish that minute of burpees even when your muscles feel like jello. Tell yourself that you WILL stick to your meal plan today because you know that your body feels better when you do.
Changing your mindset is not difficult but it does take practice. The more you do something the better you will become.

So making my shake this morning was quite interesting. I initially woke up to the power being out in our hose. Got it back on only to have it go out 10 minutes later. It stayed on while I worked out and got ready for work, but then it came time to make my shake.
I got the ice, oats, Shakeology and powdered pb in the blender and the power went out again, not to come back on this time. So thankfully I hadn't finished with putting the banana, milk and spinach in the blender yet. Into my shaker cup the blender contents went and Shake, Shake, Shake... I start sipping on a chunky shake thanks to the oats! 😲

But at least I was able to drink it and then get going with my day. We have an electrician coming out to take a look at the breakers today, so fingers crossed!🤞🏻

I love that feeling of being done with a great workout. Had to focus really hard for this one but just because I am traveling doesn't mean I am slacking on my training.
