"Fished some non-biting coastal yellow in the morning and decided to point it offshore. Got to the zone around 2pm and said screw it, lets put the kite up. Moments after a little spot of fish came up so I put the yummy right in front of em. Grabbed the gyros to make sure the yummy was skipping right. Scanning the horizon, as soon as the yummy was in the glasses BOOOM explosion on the flyer. WINDDDDDD.
We were bit....and we only had the kite up for five minutes. Noah and his brother pulled on her for a good 45 mins while I drove the boat and then I came in to finish her off. The butt of the rod broke in the rod holder so I was left with pulling on this thing with zero leverage.
Just where the reel connects to the rod and the whole upper end. Everything that could of went wrong, went wrong. Full #paingame. After another 30-45 she came up and @noah_warren1921 and his brother stuck a couple perfect gaff shots in the #dome. A fish of a lifetime. Something Ive frothed over since the arrival of the #localmoose last year. So glad I got to check this one off the list and experience it with my brother Noah. Full teamwork sesh put meat on the deck. A day I'll never forget." - @charlessaraspe
