Congratulations @healybaum on being the first Lagree Fitness success story of 2018! Thank you for sharing your story. We wish you continued success! "Always an active person with a demanding work schedule as a self-employed woman, I used to lift weights 3x/week and do cardio 2x/week. I was happy with my physique, maintaining a size 4, but never had the abs/or six pack (which admittedly is my trouble area). Fast forward to winter of 2014, I was suffering from depression from my father’s death and got rear-ended so badly in a snow storm that I blacked out.
At the ER, the Doctor tried to give me every pain prescription imaginable and I refused as I have approached life holistically and with alternative medicine (chiropractic) since a young child (thanks, Mom). And boom…the chronic pain, lack of mobility and depression crept up...not to mention, weight gain from not being able to lift weights or workout without pain (and I'm curvy, so five pounds is a huge difference and very self-defeating for me). Upon a move to Scottsdale in summer of 2014, I started #LagreeFitness @BodyLabAZ - very intimidating at first as I walked into a room full of perfectly chiseled physiques (men and women - I can't preach enough the importance of postural training, the pelvic floor and the stability muscles for overall good health) and an instructor (Mo) who is regular performer in Cirque du Soleil.
An ambitious gal, I kept going three times per week, ditched the weights and was all in for Lagree. Within two months, my chronic pain was managed and had subsided, my mobility was better than it has ever been, and my abs were on point! As I travel for work, the first thing I do is find Lagree studios in the city where I am visiting and book classes.
The picture on the right is six months after the "before" picture was taken to show you how quickly three times per week Lagree is. The after was achieved with a strict diet as well and no sugar or processed foods. In the before I was probably 20 pounds heavier and inflamed - I am curvy as I described - so even 10 pounds makes a huge difference for me.
I can’t emphasize enough how Lagree changed my life in so many ways for the better.
