This speaks to me SO much. I’ve been an incredibly deep soul and empathetic heart since I was born. I remember being about 5 and crying because my dad wouldn’t let me keep all the stones I picked up at this beach. (I used to collect stones). I would cry because I didn’t want the stones I had to put back to feel like they weren’t worthy or they didn’t matter or I was “picking them.” My parents never knew how to handle my deep empathy. They would tell me not to be so dramatic, not to “overreact,” and not to be “so ridiculous.” And it just made me feel like my emotions were not valid.

The way they dealt with me (or belittled me more so) really screwed up my mind growing up. I felt like I was completely alone. Misunderstood, an outcast, unrelatable. I felt so isolated because 99 out of 100 people would not be anything like me and the older I got the more it became clear how “weird” or “different” I was. It made it very hard for me to make real friends, and it still does.

This world can be beautiful, but with the beautiful half there is also an extremely painful, dark and miserable side that is SO hard for me to deal with. Just reading about something like a family leaving their dog at a shelter makes me cry and feel wrecked inside because I can feel that emotional pain of the dog left behind. I watch the news and it’s just one negative thing after another and I can’t handle it.

Feeling fully ALL the time is one of the most exhausting and isolating things of the human existence. It’s why I become reclusive often - I have so much within myself to deal with and work through that I can’t keep up appearances day after day and week after week.

Being emotional is hard, but it’s also beautiful. We are open. We are awake. We see. We know. We understand. And we also hurt. But I would rather that than be cold & closed off.

Day 12 #hollowbackholidays ❤️💚❤️ is a hollowback headstand with arms extended...I cheated and only extended 1 arm bc safety first 😅. And yes I knoooow my face is red bc it’s always red when I’m upside down 👌🏻❤️! Nice ending shape for an awesome challenge. I learned a ton and made some progress I think 🤔👍🏻❤️!! Thx to all the hosts for the tips, creative drills and encouragement 💋❤️! Second post for Day 11 #hollowbackholidays ❤️💚❤️bc winter solstice so YAY!! The days will start to get looooonger!! 🎉❤️ Again working all the shapes...over and over and over 😅...with lots of falls WAIT FOR IT 😂!! So... I just can’t go from straight leg hollowback into wheel bc of my shoulders (too scared 😱)... BUT I found if I used the side wall a bit for balance I could go a tiny bit deeper. TINY bit but hey...it’s still progress!!! 😅❤️My shoulders are REALLY feeling it this week 😅!! Gotta keep working shoulders, upper back and heart openers ... bc it’s NOT happening in my lumbar!! I think Kasia @aerial_delights said stiffAF?! Working ALL the things for Days 10/11 #hollowbackholidays 😅💙! Easing into falling out using bolsters, working alignment with my @infinitystrap and block, using the wall to set muscle memory and open heart and shoulders and playing with movement thru different shapes. My shoulders are REALLY feeling it this week 😅!! I’m always nervous to drop back (after a bad shoulder dislocation and all the rehab to get back mobility and strength) 😅😱. Cartwheeling out from hollowback really scares me even more bc of the potential shoulder twisting. So I’m trying to get over the drop back fear 😂💙!! Gotta keep working shoulders, upper back and heart openers ... but I got a little hollowback in stag legs, tuck and pike. Baby Hollowback...😅!! My post for #FitnessByErinFavs @fitnessbyerin is a handstand in the climbing gym. ❤️ This combines my 2 fav activities: climbing and handstanding. I just finished a couple hours of climbing and sent a very challenging new route on top rope. My hands are chalky, my arms are shaky tired and my forearms are pumped. The absolute best stretch post climbing is a handstand (after some serious shoulder stretching)...the forearm stretch feels incredible. Yoga makes me a better climber and climbing makes me a stronger yogi -mind and body. 2 years ago I could not hold a handstand and was just tipping back and forth in a hallway. Now I can jump, float and press into handstand and hang out for ab a minute. 2 years ago I could not have sent a tricky 5.12+ on an overhang (if you’re not a climber just know it’s hard! 😆). And 2 years ago I hit my 50s...so I’m fighting gravity and age here. All the more sweet 😊❤️🙏🏻! .
