I've used a variety of different methods prepping for a hunt but the MOST effective one I've found, especially for hunting Elk, is pretty simple.
Find a good, sturdy Backpack and fill it with some sand or iron plates, lace up your hunting boots and start climbing. It's that simple. I like to use a basic stair climber but you can use stairs, mountains, etc. Anything that forces you to move in an upward direction is good.
Last year I prepped for a hunt in Idaho and this is all I did. Before my flight I had worked my way up to 60 min sessions using only what you see here. Not to sound boastful but I felt like I beat the mountains and not the other way around.
So, if you're uncertain on how to prep for a western hunt, or you hunt #mountainbucks like I do, this is the ticket. Enjoy🏹
