@fivealarmcf Test Week, Part 2, the Sumo Deadlift! In the end, went well, and I hit a 50# PR at 325#!
But, wanted to talk a minute about bracing. Filling your core/belly with air, holding your breath, staying tight, and lifting. Both of these videos are of the same weight. •
In vid 1, I take a deep breath, drop down, grab the bar, set up, LET OUT MY AIR, then take a new breath before lifting. I’m still fairly tight, but I miss the lift. •
In vid 2 (again same weight), I take a deep breath, drop down, grab the bar, set up, and go. And I make the lift. Strength wasn’t the issue, proper bracing made the difference. •
