Pre-fast Glucose/Ketones 👍🏻. I love pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I’ve been studying nutrition and functional medicine heavily since getting back from the PCT and after consulting a few veteran biohackers, I’ve decided that it’s time. Next week, I will be embarking on a powerful experiment with my mind and body.
I’ll be fasting for 4 days.
Starting 8pm Sunday 12/17 to 8pm Thursday 12/21, I will have nothing but water, and try and keep my normal routines: work, exercise, and sleep. I plan to break my fast on Thursday night/Friday with bone broth and sea salt, then a heavy salad, Kombucha, and back into #ketogenic foods going into the Christmas holiday.
I’ve been mostly Paleo/Keto for the past 2 months since getting off the trail and have been setting myself up for success by becoming fat-adapted, and replacing the bad gut-biome with probiotics through eating fermented foods like veggies and Kombucha, as well as lots and lots of #peakyogurt . I no longer feel fatigued, or experience any brain fog as I have in the past. My mind feels clear, my mood is great, and my body feels stronger than ever before. I want to utilize this momentum and take things to the next level.
I’ve always heard about the benefits of fasting, but never had the will power or support system to be successful. This time, I have 7 veteran-fasters supporting me. We will have a FB group for daily check-ins and accountability.
If we interact next week, just know that I’ll be only drinking water. No tea, coffee, etc. I would really appreciate your support by not putting delicious foods in my face! Let’s save that for Friday 12/22 :) Then I will report the results here.
10 Reasons That led me to give Fasting a try:
1. Mental Clarity
2. Changing beliefs about food
4. Becoming more aware of bad habits, and overcome addiction like caffeine and alcohol
5. Getting outside my comfort zone
6. Improve cell recycling: autophagy
7. Boost immune system
8. Prevent chronic disease: diabetes and cancer runs rampant in my family
9. More gratitude for life
10. Improved self-awareness and heightened senses (seeing, hearing, taste, touch)
