Today is Doshomi, the last day of the Durga Pujas. I am in Singapore right now but I did manage to go to the Bandra Pujo back home for bhog the day before I left. While in the flight to Singapore, I wrote a reflective blog post on what the Pujas meant to me this year. I typed it on the phone and thought I'll keep it short, but it was a long flight!

#featurefriday Meet Lauren and Enrique Vega. Lauren is one of our stylists here, but along with her husband they own Cowboys Bbq & Rib Co. The business was established in 1989 by Lauren's parents, Dallas and Tahnya Green. They do local catering and BBQ competitions. They have won over 100 titles nation wide! While doing a show in New Jersey, 11 year old Enrique rode his bike over to the festival to find work for the weekend as his mom was very poor and he wanted to help out. Dallas gave him a job for the weekend and he did so good he talked to his mom and had him travel with them the rest of that summer. After that Dallas mentored him and he traveled with them every summer! When they grew up Lauren and Enrique married and this year they took over the family owned business to keep the tradition of home made sauce and dry rubbed delicious meat going!
