Do you have a favorite second ferment flavor, like beet ginger, that gets just way too carbonated and explosive in a matter of days? Or do you ever want to be able to leave bottles out longer in 2f, because there is no space in the fridge?🙋♀️ Add fresh citrus! It really tones down the fizz.🍋 Here, we had added backyard meyer lemon juice to our usual blended beet and ginger - a flavor we make a lot in the winter, but would be a total bomb within 2 warm summer days like it is now. By adding citrus, we were able to leave it at room temp for over 10 days in second ferment, and it could even sit a few more. It is still super fizzy but not such an overflowing hot mess! We also make a "strawberry lemonade" flavor in the same manner. Next, I think we'll try watermelon lime! 🍉 Cheers!
